In fourth grade we have been working on an international art idea where we learned about Panama's Molas. We are experimenting with an efficient way to make this type of a design using colored construction paper.

I found that gallery too and made a lesson about it. It's in Dutch, I will translate it soon and write it on my blog in English.

I'd love to see photos of this when you're done. I've tried doing them as reverse applique and regular applique. I like the reverse better, but they sure are tricky for some kids. jan
We've been going strong on this one and I may have a few photos to share at the end of the week. No kiddin' about this not being the easiest cutting lesson. I tried one in reverse myself before I even presented the lesson and knew I wouldn't want to teach it that way. But with your special talents in snipping, I bet you'd be really good at either style. Once they started making background shapes behind the animal they really started to look like a mola!
